Queries and beefs from a clueless Brit

Every time I try to open the user manual to my Arc S (LT15i_UG_EN_1253-8405_1.1.pd & 1,2.pd) I get 'Unknown error occured while loading. Code -997'. This is damn frustrating, because the on-board user-guide is laughably basic - even an old anti-geek like myself could work out the basic functions! Any help out there, berore I call SE UK and risk making an utter dickhead of myself?

I'd like to add my beefs to the general disappointment on here:

a, When trying to copy text from web-pages, unless I'm extremely feather-touched, I find the page moving around and have to start again. Sometimes I get it right, after several frustrating attempts: mostly I end up just writing it down on paper, in a blinding rage. Compared to my old SE W595, this is a very dysfunctional piece of kit.

b, Talking of my W595, I appreciate that this isn't a walkman phone, but that's no excuse for a maximum volume that would'nt wake a bleedin' mouse!

While we're at it, SE apologised for the inability to play my old WMA files, blaming Android - fair do's, but when I downloaded a music player that would, it couldn't find my music files. I suspect this my fault (techno-ignorance) but surely I'm a typical user? I'm not dumb - I have a bloody degree - more frustration!

c, Why can't I group my bookmarks into folders (W595 again)? I get sick of scrolling for seldom-used, but nonetheless essentials sites.

Sorry for moaning. One other query though: I read a comment on here, from @Klode, about Dropbox and Box - sounded good. Anyone able to provide a link? Thank you, and Happy New Year to one and all. J

Hey Jonny,

can't help with the user manual - i tend not to use them, as I prefer to monkey around

with all the settings and stuff Slightly_smiling_Face

If you're struggling with copying from the browser, you might want to try another

browser - you might find it works better. Try Dolphin HD or Opera.

No idea about WMA - all my stuff is in MP3 - but I'll try and replicate the issue.

What was the comment about? I use both - especially as we get 50Gb for free from Box

because we have SE phones Slightly_smiling_Face

Thanks mate, I've seen browsers in app mart, so I'll try one. I take it that I'll find dropbox there too?. The comment about dropbox was given in reply to a discussion about "dissappointment" - it's in the list of topics.

Here's the link to the Box news and offer,

For the user guide, when you go to the Support application and tap the user guide, do you get this message? If not, when and where do you?

Trying a different browser might be a good idea since you clearly aren't very happy with the copying of text and management of bookmarks. Different browsers work in different ways and despite I have not used Dolphin HD or Opera Mini that much I know they are very popular. Have a look at them. Slightly_smiling_Face

Regarding your audio files, it might be that a different player might support them. Have a look in Market and do a search on "WMA" and it will suggest lots of different players. Try some of them, they might be able to play your files.

On the max volume being low, I agree. Hands down. Not going to argue with you on this one. Slightly_smiling_Face I've forward many comments on this before.

Hello Markus, sorry for the long delay - equally long story, so I'll spare you it! Got the user-guide sussed, thanks, though I'm sure that there's a good deal they don't tell us. Just followed up the link to Dropbox and download it, so will spend the weekend playing with it.

Thanks again, Jon.
