ps3 remote

Hi, I've purchased an Xperia z1 and I'd like to use it to turn on and control the menus on my ps3. I kinda assumed that this would be an easy and simple thing to do in Sony's ecosystem but I can't seem to do it. Am I crazy to expect my brand new phone to have the limited functionality of the ps3 controller? Any help would be great! I hope my disappointment is because of my poor ability to use Google.

all i know is that you can connect a ps3 controller to your phone and play on it(games that support the ps3 controller.

i don't think you can control anything else on your phone or use your phone to control a ps3 (i might be wrong though).

That's what I thought. Bit annoying nobody with a definitive answer would reply. 

Bit annoyed that Sony wouldn't include this feature. Needless to say I won't bother buying into Sony's poorly supported Ecosystem.

there is an app called (playstation app) that is for remote play on playstation but in the new version of it you can just connect it to ps4. there is other ways to do this if u google it you can find solution.

about dualshock controller, outside of games you can control also the mobile, moving like it was a keyboard.

for instance, moving up, right, down and so on, means moving on the screen through the icons and/or desktops.
