proximity sensor problem - non resolvable

after several visits to lab, several reboots, updates etc. - MY PHONE'S PROXIMITY SENSOR ONLY WORKS WHEN VERTICAL AND NOT WHEN HORIZONTAL. THUS KEEPS HANGING UP AND DOING ALL SORTS OF THINGS DURING CALL!!

i'm going crazy and none of the answers in the forum works. anyone???

I think if you tried a software repair and did not help,you need to take it to sony service:
