Problems with the Z1

Hi Everyone, Ive had my z1 since around it launched but there are still a bunch of problems with it i wondered if anyone had the same issues susch,

. Lock screen flickering,

. volume buttons on headphones/earphones not working,.

. music sometimes pauses randomly and starts again (usually when unlocking the phone)

. Battery life lasts for around 12 hours when having location services on or less if using any "intensive" apps.
. some contacts disapearing in contacts list but if you get a phone call or text from them it shows the persons name.

Ive switched from an iphone which i had for almost 4 years to this and ive never had these problems with it, Also this is my first android device so i dont know if some of the problems are android related.

Does anyone kow if there is an update coming out?

Sorry to hear about the issues you're having.

I recommend that you first try updating the software in your phone and see if that helps. You can update it using PC Companion or Bridge for Mac: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/software/computer-software/.

In the first software there was for example an issue with using the buttons on a headset.

If you still have problems after updating the phone, try it in safe mode to make sure that the problems are not caused by an app you installed. See this thread for information on safe mode: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/How-to-boot-your-phone-into-safe-mode/m-p/348008.

If you can't see all contacts, open contacts, tap menu (3 dots) and select Filter. Here you can set what contacts that should be displayed.

Hi Rickard,

I just tried booting into safe mode and the problem with headphone buttons and contacts are still there.

Also im on version 14.1.g.1.534 which is the latest version in the UK.

Is there anything else i can try?

Firmware 14.1.G.2.257 has just been released and should be making its way to the UK shortly.

Is the headset from Sony or are you using a 3:rd party headset? If it's a 3:rd party headset, could you try with a Sony headset?

If everything is enabled under Contacts -> [menu] -> Filter, perhaps you have some numbers stored on the SIM-card. Go to Contacts -> [menu] -> Import contacts -> SIM card to copy them to the phone.
