Problems with ringtone since software update

Hi,

Just completed the latest software update and now can only use the default Xperia ringtones & notifications and not my personal ones from the media player (used to be able to before the update).

Does the update take out your ability to personalise the ringtones now? I've used the same ringtone & message notification for years now so I'm not exactly impressed that I can't use them after completing the latest update on a brand new phone!

If I reset back to factory settings will this take out the update and go back to the original settings as when bought? 

Any help would be gratefully received!

The factory reset won't get rid of updates, but don't know if it will solve your problem.

First try,

SETTINGS >> APPS>> MENU (3 DOTS )>> RESET APP PREFERENCES

Brilliant, obviously I pressed the Media settings and "always" when first going into it rather than sound picker and "just once". Works fine now!
