Hi.Today I bought the phone. When connect an original accessory, all right. But when connect the LiveSound MH-1 writes that accessory is not supported, why? And more, during the conversation sound goes through the rear speaker and not through the front, how to change. Thank you!
Hi, LiveSound Headset does not work with Sony Xperia S.
You should get Smart Headset instead .... http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/products/accessories/smart-headset/
When you click the "extras" link off the Xperia S marketing page, the MH-1 is included in the list of accessories. This is very sloppy marketing as the list isn't filterered to the particular phone that you happen to be browsing. Thus giving the impression that the MH-1 is fully compatible.
Why wouldn't it be?
"Buy a smart headset instead", seems to be a lame answer. And there is a work-around to get the MH-1 fully functional with the Xperia S (LT26)
When my new set of MH-1's arrived I too got the accessory not supported message. In frustration, I tried an adapter I'd got with a set of Radiopaq ear buds that was marked with "For Samsung Smartphones and some others". Incidentally these phones worked in my Xperia S without the adapter.
The adapter gives me full functionallity with the phones right down to the LiveKey functions. So it seems to be just a simple wiring of the jack issue.
I suspect that similar adapters are available on Ebay for pennies. I suggest searching for "Samsung jack adapter" or similar. Some imagination might be required.
Sure I now have an extra 10cm cable permanantly attached to my MH-1 but worth considering, rather than shelling out for another set of moderately expensive ear-buds, when the MH-1 is quite a capable item.
The reason that the MH-1 doesn't work with the new Xperia phones, is because Sony have now started making their phones Cita compliant. Hence why the Sony Smart Headset, is exactly the same as the MH1 but carries the model code MH1c. Cita is wired differently so out-of-the-box MH1 will not work with any Cita complient phone.
So it's a symptom of Sony coming into line with the overall market rather than excluding itself from it.
