Problems with firmware Sony Xperia E4

I bought this smartphone a few days ago. First impression - not bad enough. But these days I noticed problems with using a smartphone
- creaking back of the left hand
- the inability to select the memory card as the default memory
-poor image quality after taking photo (like software problem)
-the program does not have permission to write to the memory card
-yellow tint display.
I hope that Sony will fix software issues in the next update.
Sorry for my english...

Hi guy,

Output is 850 mA. Lower than another adapter.

However, Sony Customer Care Center VN already checked adapter. It's normally.

They already run software again. But this phone still faced this longer charge time.

However, with Battery capacity is 2300 mAh, 4 hours for full charge is too long.

Do you agree with me?

2300mA battery charged with a 850mAh charger will take this much time. If your charger was like 1.5mAh output it would take 2 hours charging.

Hi Guy,

At your recommandation, I will use another adapter with higher output 1.5VA.

I will try but I worry about gurarranty decline regarding to any trouble that faced with differrent kind of recommeded adapter from Sony.

Hi community,
I've bought an E4g some two weeks ago and have read through the topics here, so here are the things i noticed that could get fixed. All observed on latest software 25.0.A.2.14. Note that I did a repair with PC Companion too see if any of those would dissappear, no change.

1.) Each time phone gets turned off or restarted the screen on time in battery usage stops refreshing until screen is turned off and on again (by itself or by locking/unlocking with power button), then it's ok again until next reboot.

2.) Phone when charged fully until it stops charging by itself causes the battery gauge to run down faster than it should, resulting in it arriving to 1% too early (somewhere above 3.6 V, normally shutdown is at 3.4 V), or in other words I can still use the phone with more than an hour screen-on time until it finally shuts down. Also read that it charges faster when nearing full charge, can confirm that. Normally it's other way around, it slows as it gets to full charge. When phone is drained fully and shuts down, then charged to 95% it's ok, but then a big chunk of capacity is wasted since it's not really 90%, but less. But charge the phone fully to 4.3 V and the gauge runs down faster than the actual state of the battery really is at. Either way the the gauge is not streched to encompass the full capacity but rather some 70-80% so it displays either the lower or upper range of charge instead of stretching itself across the whole range. Think it's a kernel gauge software issue and it's really annoying. Seen similar posts which probably probably describe the same issue. It's not simply a calibration matter at which the phone user can influence.

3.) When charging, the LED orange to green transition at 90% is hard to notice (they're quite similar), my old xperia phone could be clearly distinguished.

4.) When charging  the screen becomes less responsive (not registering taps, and swipes often registered as taps which leads to selection of things when swiping over them).

All of those look like software issues (only not sure about the display sensitivity when charged) so would be great if it can be forwarded to the relevant people for a future software update.
If anyone has noticed any of those things or other write it down so we can reference with each other. Thx 🙂
Great phone for the money btw.

Another thing I noticed on the E4g.
Live wallpapers make the launcher quite choppy, it's not smooth anymore. Music tends to do that too (also with other apps, not only launcher) although to a lesser degree but still noticeable. If my old xperia from 2011 with a single core cpu could run music at same time as other apps (and live wallpapers too without much impact) then this device should do it with ease. Still quite some bug fixes and software optimization needed.

P.S. Could someone tell me why my post above was moved here when I made it as new topic. I mean I made valid points above that weren't mentioned anywhere else. Kinda hijacked this thread here and made my post less important. Not to mention that this topic is about the E4 and not E4g.
Kind regards.

ever wonder why it is so cheap?

its processor isn't very good at multiTasking. don't use live wallpaper, minimize background apps this is not a high performance device.

True, it's not, but it's certainly better than a 1gh single core cpu from 2011. Simply scrolling through the launcher hardly requires a high performance device, or playing music in the background for that matter.

I noticed the update 25.0.A.2.31 is available.

The changelog reports only "bug fixes and enhancements".

Is there someone knows more details about the update?

Sadly, you will not find any detailed change logs on this forums, if it's not posted on Sony Mobile Blog then you will not find it anywhere else. But my advice is to go for the update after performing a backup of your important data (just to be safe, they should not be affected).
