Hi,
I'm new to this forum to see if I can get some answers to the problems I am experiencing after updating to 5.1.1 (23.4.A.1.200) on my Z3C.
As many people have said in other posts, the battery life seems to be reduced - it is certainly draining faster than previously, although not as fast as some other users are experiencing.
More annoyingly, the phone has lost touch sensitivity at the top right of the screen in all situations (apps, homescreen, etc.). Basically, I cannot access any button that appears below the clock and battery on the system bar, or the little user icon that appears if the system bar is pulled down. The area just to the left of this area is a bit temperamental - sometimes tapping the screen a number of times allows access to the button at that point. The left of the screen is fine.
Anyone also experiencing this problem? And anyone got a solution perhaps?
Thanks,
Matt
thanks, i'll give that a go... i just have to figure out using pc companion on a ubuntu laptop!
so...
i borrowed a friend's pc and loaded up pc companion and connected my z3. i went through the options til i found the re-install firmware and was a little surprised to find that it would wipe all data from my phone!?!? (even though this isn't the case with OTA updates).
well, i thought that since the area of the screen that isn't responding is quite important, i would have to loose everything (yes, i know i can backup and recover, but its still quite a hassle!). it did what it needed to do and i got through all the welcome stuff and... the screen is still not functioning correctly!
i ran the touchscreen diagnostic before and after the re-update and exactly the same part of the screen is not responsive. it's but even like a neat square area like i imagined it might be, but a slightly wonky triangular section!
so... any other suggestions... please!!!
having just removed a cracked tempered glass screen protector, i've found a tiny hairline crack across the corner of the screen just about where the screen has lost touch sensitivity, so that explains why the problem has occured.
what doesn't make any sense though, is that the crack was there before the update and the screen worked 100%. it's only since the update that the problem has occured
can i go back in time please! (before the update or before the crack - either will do!)
Got the same problem with the touch screen that lost reactivity since the last update and more precisedly on the "b" letter (azerty keyboard).
It became difficult to get out the sleep mode by double tapping the screen too.
