Problem with Xperia Z1 compact headphone jack

Hello!

I started getting problems with my Xperia Z1 Compact about 2 days ago. Whenever I put my headphones in the headphone jack my phone starts going nuts. First of all, which is the worst thing, is that I rarely get sound from headphones even though they are plugged in, the sound instead comes from the speaker. Also when I put the headphones in and out, the phone automatically starts switching the sound volume. Sometimes to the lowest sound level and sometimes to the highest sound level. Sometimes the phone also repeatedly starts an application, I thinks it's called smart connect and music on the go, or something like that.

I assumed that this is a problem with the headphone jack and I really want to get this fixed as fast as possible.

Thanks in advance.

I would disable the smart connect app and see if that fixes the issue first. I had it go nuts after DST changed, so it would repeately switch from and to  "night" event every two seconds, making the phone vibrate non stop. This sound similar to your phone switching from and to "music on the go" issue.

Hey,

I had the same issue and contacted Xperia Support. They told me to send the device in - so I backed up my data, resetted the phone and sent it to the support Center. A few days later I got it back with the note that they could not find any problems and I should check my headphones (I already mentioned that I had crosschecked with different devices and several pairs of headphones..)

Long story short, I sent it to the support Center three (!!!) times. Including backing up data, resetting the phone and restoring data three times... After the third time they replaced the phone by a "new" one but still didn´t really seem to be able to reproduce the error.

That was right before christmas and guess what... the new phone just started the Smart Connect Software without any headphones connected....

I would really like to know if (and how) you solved the problem with your phone.

If not... good luck with the Xperia Support..

Cheers,

Mareike

Same thing happened to me. I got it fixed just after Christmas and it's happened again.
