Problem with notification sms

Hello

I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S with 2.3.4 gingerbread and regulary when i receive a sms in my phone in silent mode or sound mode, i go check sms, unlock the screen and it´s no sms notification in bar notification or in sms app that it´s usual to shows.

It not happen all the time but every day some sms do this and disapear totaly from the screen, and if i don´t hear the phone ringing i can stay hours without looking at the phone

Please help me understanding what is happenig!

I'm sorry, I don't really get a grip of exactly what happened's with your phone when you receive a message. Could you please explain a bit further?

Thanks for attention to my problem.

When i recive a menssage\sms is supposed to appear in the notification bar when you touch the power button to light the screen, right? For example, when you see the screen saver that appears the unlock bar and the hours and the silent\sound bar, also shows like this "1 message new" below the hours and my problem is that some times this message "1 message new" don´t appears and don´t shows anywhere that i have a new message\sms.

It´s like this example:

I´m in my daily routine, and then i hear the sound of a new message. I go check the phone, touch the power button, i see the screen saver and i don´t see any notification of new message, i unlock the phone in slide bar and don´t see too any notification in the notification bar and message icon but if i open the message icon the message is there as if i had already read .

You understand what is happening?
