Problem with Music widget on lockscreen bug

Although it was originally working, the lockscreen widgets for the walkman app and spotify app no longer appear when music is playing. The clock widget is instead always shown, although there is a slight flicker when you first turn on the screen as if it is trying to switch to the music widget, and clearly there is a bug in the software.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi,

I wanted to add the Walkman widget to the lockscreen, but I can't.

I read that people are putting it there, but how? I don't have it on the list when I click on the + button. I tried clearing the data, but nothing. I'm on 4.3 latest update.

I think the suggestion of having a Walkman Widget in lock screen is a good option for this problem.

Hope Sony Xperia People soon listen to this, as I too is having this problem in my Xperia Z.

Why can I not add the Walkman to my lock screen? (it appears when active ie. a track is played or paused AND THEN the screen is locked... but I want the option to activate the walkman from the lock screen (it doesn't appear to be an available 'lock screen widget' for some reason - email and calendar are there - even Track ID! but I want the option of Walkman from my lock screen)

I'm not having this same bug problem with my Z1 (the Walkman widget is working on my lock screen fine when I have activated Walkman player) - but I want the option of having Walkman as a lock screen widget permanently (ie. shouldn't have to unclock the phone to get to it .... just swipe and there it is...!) Will uninstalling this smartkey app enable me to achieve this desired result (ie. will Walkman appear in the list of available 'selectable' lock screen widgets? 

Secondly, what does this 'smartkey' app do? as i may not wish to uninstall it at all!

I fixed this by installing the Walkman widget from play store.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.voiche.musicwidget
I deleted the clock from lock screen widget and hit plus then added this widget. So far so good didn't need the clock widget anyway and it was the only way to keep it working as before.

had this problem as well, Z1 compact. Had to uninstall smartkey app.

Uninstalling it will not give you a permanent widget, it only helps if you dont get it at all.

What SmartKey usually does, it helps controlling your music player when u have a headset with remotecontroller connected (in collaboration with SmartConnect app).

Thank you so much, Roniel! I was playing around with my phone yesterday and changed my SmartKey settings and suddenly I had the same problems described here. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what I did that caused the problem (I did quite some changes to the phone and couldn't remember everything I did) and then found your solution and it worked. Man, it was driving me crazy!
