Been waiting for the second ICS update for ages as when i had it, i was going to do a fresh install in my phone.
I currently have ICS build 4.1.A.0.562.
Last night i decided to repair install via update service regardless. Everything is fine appart from the Smart connect app.
When i try to update the app it downloads in full, then starts installing, then errors with "Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again."
I cannot uninstall the app as it is a built in app.
Any ideas?
P.S Anyone who is updating from GB to ICS is much better to fresh install than upgrade. Same as i would not upgrade a windows XP computer to windows 7, but reinstall fresh.
Thank you
I guess you should update to the latest build:)4.1.B.0.587
Keep us updated!
I would love to as apparantly the Smart connect app is included in the firmware, but it has not yet been released for my SI number. I have a UK sim free phone.
Thank you
Have you trird the manually do-it-yourself way? there is a dedicated thread here, on the forum...
I have seen the thread, but i do not want to root my phone, i would rather leave it and let he update come down naturally.
Thank you
Well, if we're lucky we might get an update just before X-mas...

I suggest that you await the .587 update, it fixes this issue.
Which no one can say if i am going to get it, or when??
You don't have to root your phone, to flash stock .587 firmware.
Just download flashtool:
And then download stock .587 ftf file from web (you can find it easily), and flash it to your phone with Flashtool.
It's easy as cake believe me.
I have the same issue with smart connect, anyone knows if flashing the device with the 4.1.b.13 firmware works and solved this problem?
