Problem taking screenshot in Xperia P

I have seen the help topics and also searched around in the forum and found only the method to take a screenshot in your mobile. Here  my problem is that I hold the power button and the lower volume key for about 3 seconds and that should work to take a screenshot whereas what happens is that the volums key simply puts down the volume to vibrate and no screenshot is taken. I have currently updated my phone and use the latest firmware which is ICS and in previous version I was able to take the screenshot simply using the power button. Please help.

You're on ICS right? Here's the trick. Press first the Lock button then lighting fast the Volume Down button. This has to be lighting fast. Hold the keys until you hear a *Snap* sound. It should notify you on the notification bar anyways :smileysilly:.

it must be done at the same time,the pressing of the 2 buttons.

I have took some screen shots, but NOW my phone refuses to take anymore.

I must have pressed the buttons about 40 times now, I getting a bit wound up, but it is refusing to take a screen shot

Make sure you hold the Power Button first and then the volume down button. Also you have to hold them until it captures the screenshot.
The combination of the keys has to be done within some milliseconds. Otherwise if you press the volume down key, it will reduce the volume...

Come on VillaYouth,it is not that hard!!!Power button first,and slide the other hand on the volume down.

I know, I was getting incredibly annoyed as I knew I had used it before, What I was doing was pressing both buttons really quickly and it was not working, I went and found another sites instructions (there is even a video on a popular site) and the crutial bit I was missing was "Press and HOLD both buttons" until it takes the snap.....

All is well (on this issue anyway)

Guys I was trying to find how to takescreenshots and all, but its so **bleep** easy!just hold the power button and select the last one, it says TAKE A SCREENSHOT!!! I feel so stupid
