Could you please help me out? What Happened for Xperia Arc??
The error I am receiving from the phone's Exchange Activesync is "Setup could not finish: Cannot connect to server"
I am not a new user of Andord, and I don't have this setting up problem with all my old android phones!
I have tried 'Nitrodesk' Touchdown and it works!
As 'Nitrodesk' is a paid software, how can I fix the active sync that comes with the phone?
Please help and see what I can do?
Thanks!
Hello,
I have the same issue when setting up ActiveSync with Windows Live.
It works fine with other Android phones, but not with SE Xperia Arc.
I am now searching for solutions...... thru the web.
But there is still no answer. If I found any solutions, I will post it here.....
PLEASE HELP!!!!
Hi horacetse1874,
I've the exact same problem, with the same "solution"...
With RoadSync or TouchDown (Exchange for Android 2.x) it simply connects to the server on the first config attempt.
If I try to make the same (or the most similar possible) configurations on the Mail app, or through the Add Account > Exchange Corporate > and so on I get the "Setup could not finish: Cannot connect to server"...
On my ActiveSync's IIS logs, I have no entries of my user even trying to connect to Exchange 2003 SP2...
So, clearly, it's an issue with the Mail app, or in the way that the Sony Ericsson's software handles the ActiveSync protocol/connectivity.
Has anyone came accross a SOLUTION, rather than installing an another-3rd-party-app for Exchange mail?
it's a pretty old tread 2011 . . .
But I have the same issue with a new SE Ray . . . no connection to Exchange, while others like HTC and Samsung (and the iP-family) also connect in one easy setup . .
Dont want another third party tool, just the email !
Please Help ! ! ! ! !
My question in the Ray Discussion . . .
In the first screen I place my email adress ( like > first.last@ mine.com ) and password
After that it asked to fix the settings for Exchange
domain/username > mine\first.last
password > *******
server > mail.mine.com
use of SSL
I accept everything, but it's not working . . it's continues saying Waiting for synchronisation
Please help . . cause i need this one (with out installing an special app)
android 4.0.3
kernel 2.6.32.9-perf
build 4.1.A.0.562
I have experienced this problem also,
I found out that I entered wrong exchange server.
I thought it was under:
Mailbox properties > General [tab] > Advanced > General [tab] : Microsoft Exchange Server
-but then I was not able to setup successfully.
The url found below worked for me:
Mailbox properties > General [tab] > Advanced > Connection [tab] > Exchange Proxy Settings : Connection Settings URL
- voila! Success
I hope it helps.
I have exactly the same problem trying to set my new xperia ray with my company e-mail account.
HTC's Motorolas that ran also Adroid work perfectly. I don't understand why Ericson have not fixed the problem.
Did you find a way to pass the problem and beeing able to finaly connect to exchange server and set up the account?
I have also problems with EAS since update from 2.3.4 to 4.0.4 (Build 4.1B.0.431)
I tried all approaches, but none of them works on my Xpria Arc!
(I did not undersand the last solution from Ecca, I cant find this settings?)
Support -> please help!
PS: isn´t there a new release?
Sorry to confuse. I was talking about where to find Exchange Server address from Outlook.
So you may input the said address in Xperia mobile unit:
Accounts and Settings > Add Exchange Account > [input email add and pass > Next] > Server settings : Server
In my case, I also had to check "Accept all SSL certificates"
I hope it helps.
You can try the following. It worked for my case.
If your e-mail account is MyName@Mycompany.com then instead of entering during the e-mail setup proceess MyDomain\MyName
try
MyName@MyDomain.root.Mycompany.com
I am pretty sure that it will work.
