Problem: Notification Sounds and Ringtones

I have had it with 4.4.2 KitKat for the Xperia Z1.  Once a day I do a phone reboot because the notification sound and calls sounds are so quite. It is driving me crazy. Is there a fix for this yet or are we still waiting? and why.
