Problem making special calls after 4.3 update

Hi!

After upgrade to 4.3 phone does'nt accept symbol '*' in phone numbers anymore - when ei want to call for example 1234*222*112233 it cuts everything after 1234 and calls only 1234, result is that call fails because another side expects missing part too.

Pretty frustrating because I can't use some common services in my country anymore.

wbr,

T

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I'm not able to reproduce the behavior you are experiencing. If you check the call log, is it listed as 1234 or 1234*222*112233?

You can try to boot your phone into safe mode to see if the problem may be related to any 3rd party app that you have installed in your phone:

Hi!

Call log shows only '1234'.

Tried safe mode - same behavior.

EDIT: Is this normal that after returning from safe mode all my desktop/home screen setting are messed up? (Icons missing from home screen, Timescape list is empty, Widgets gone, Apps icons messed up etc)

I'm not able to reproduce your problem. I suggest that you first of all try to reinstall the phone software using PC Companion:

http://www.sonymobile.com/update

In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Press the blue link that says "Repair phone/tablet".

Before repairing the software in your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to:

Alexander, I already did a factory reset to phone (after safe mode messed up all my icons).

And I'm not only person having this problem with this phone.

And seems like LG G2 ja LG Nexus5 suffer same problem, at least in our area.

Maybe they share some common baseband code etc?

Well in that case it sounds like it can be network related. I would suggest that you try your phone using another SIM card from another network provider to see if you get the same behavior. I also suggest that you talk to your network provider to see if they have heard about this.

Hi!

I already talked with several people who are using same phone model but different network provider.

Only common thing we have is Sony Xperia V with Android 4.3.

They had same problem as I.

Now some good news - seems like latest firmware 9.2.A.1.210 fixed this problem! Slightly_smiling_Face

I have the same problem, after I've turned the phone on in safe mode some icons are missing. I turned the phone off and on again but still no Icons on homescreen. I have Xperia Z and Android 4.3.

In the link that tells you how to start in safe mode you'll find information about booting into safe mode may change personal UI customizations such as icons and folders.

Do you experience any problem with making calls? In that case could you elaborate a bit?
