Problem in update

hello dear , i m trying to update my xperia u, but dont know wats happening ...... i m tired of it

I followed the whole procedure for update using pc companion, at the end when it says switch off phone,plug it again with pc while pressing volume down key.... i pressed the vol  down key for several minutes but nothing happened.....!

please anybody help me

i'm having the same problem for 1261-9042. Have tried it with pc companion and the Sony Update Service but still nothing happens when re-connecting phone with volume down key pressed. Any help much appreciated!

It's not about how long you press VolDOWN button, but when you press it. It's little bit tricky, I also had to do it twice. You have to press VolDOWN and at the same time plug cable. After 2-3 seconds PCC should show message like "Now you can release VolDOWN button"

ah ok. So if you press and hold volDOWN, and then plug in usb it shouldn't work? You need to do both at the same time...? Cheers

Yes at the same time and after its done half green light will light at the bar.
