Problem in taking Pics with Flash Lite

i got a problem while getting the pics with FLASH LIGHT in Dark or in outside. when i take pics one side of pic is the dark, any one tell me wats this problem??? i'm using Xperia P with andriod 4.0.4. Please help me out that how can i get this problem solved? is there any specefic camera settings for this???

are there any reflective objects (mirrors, windows, etc)? do you have a protectingcase that its close to the flash? if you do have a protecting case, remove it and try to take pictures w/ flash

Have you tried using 6 mpixel in your cam settings? Compare it with 8 mpixel if the problem still persists. Please do chech uliwooly's post

thanks both of u, but i doesnt work after removing the safety cover, but it does work in 6MP camera mode worked prefect. Thanks florenzgonzales
