Problem in Headphone Jack

My headphone jack seems broken. It does not recognize the plugging of the headphones and the music on the go feature only lasts for a secord after the start actions, and in order for the phone to recognize the headphone, i must apply more pressure to the headphones to the jack and after I let go of the pressure, the phone does not recognize the headphones anymore. Please respond and thank you very much

Are you sure the headphones are compatible as this is what it sounds like

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I would advise using a cotton tip to gently and carefully clean the headphone jack.

I have cleaned the headphone jack, and the phone starts recognizing the headphones, but after a while, it does not recognize the headphones again, is ther any particular method in cleaning the headphone jack? I have tried using wet cotton swabs and the dry cotton swabs.

I would not have normally advised using wet ones as this can impact the connection until it is dry. Have you tested again after letting it dry out completely?

I cleaned the headphone jack using wet cotton swabs first, then I wipe dry it using dty cotton swab, the headphone jack sometimes works after I cleaned it, but after I insert and remove the pin of the headphones, it starts malfunctioning again.

I also have a somewhat irregular operation with jack, but always taking off and back again to finish running.

Unfortunately in this case I would have to advise you speak with your local Xperia Care team regarding having an assessment arranged.
