problem creating backup file

I recently experienced a problem while creating a backup file. I used to have a 2gb card and the backup process runs smoothly in it, i tried using it today and still working fine. Last week, I bought an 8gb card for my TX and the photos and music files are working fine. However, when I tried to create a backup last night, it suddenly hanged in the middle of the process. When I cancelled it, my phone then hanged too. I could not turn it off unless I remove the battery.

Could this problem be isolated with the SD card I am using? Or does it has something to do with my phone? Also, I noticed that my battery drains fast now, even after the reset. Could this be caused by the SD card too?

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

What Speed Class rating is your SD card.

if it is a local brand with low speed it can cause your phone performance...

It is a class 4. Is that too low? I was able to create a backup later today but I had to divide the backup into two small files instead of creating just one backup file. I also repaired my device using SUS, so it is basically on its bare state now (I did not restore my previous apps yet), but I still notice a fast battery drain even with the data off.

Try using third party apps like My Backup to backup your files...

Thanks. I encountered another problem today, while using the camera and accessing the photos. The phone suddenly hanged. It seems that this happens everytime I access resources from the SD card. I should probably buy a new one. May I ask what speed you use that is compatible with the TX? thanks.
