I think I can see a pre-installed screen protector on my ion (LT28i)...I can see there are a few scratches on it already....Can I remove it and install a new protector of other brands? Or am I not supposed to? I have also heard that it is actually an anti-shattering film of some sort..
If it is okay to remove the pre-installed one, how do you do it? It looks like it is very firmly adhered onto the screen I can hardly get the coners out...
?!?!?! The only thing that comes on the camera is the plastic film to protect during shipping. That can be removed beyond that you are straight to the Sony (Sony = Too cheap to use Gorilla Glass or Corning glass) surface. Welcome to sctraches galore if you do not buy after market protectors. Glad my carrier had some in-store. Next phone will be HTC again (Gorilla Glass). Two years away from Sony and three weeks of hating the Ion after buying and using it - looked great on and in the box.
The Xperia Ion has scratch resistant mineral glass, it is NOT as strong as Gorilla Glass nor Dragon trail

I don't recommend removing it, only if you are going to replace it with another screen protector such as Zagg invisibleshield. it's hard to remove but not impossible.

You might want to look very closely at the edges / corners. It does have another film on.
