Powerbutton does not turn screen on (something to do with proximity detector)

I can lock the phone using the power button just fine but can't turn it back on using the power button I would need to connect/disconnect my power to make the screen light up again. It started happening when I updated the system to the last update(the update before current version) I believe it has something to do with the proximity detector (using a screen guard that covers it) when I remove the screen guard it works fine... But the screen guard is sort of expensive (tempered glass) and it be a shame if it would be a waste... Is it possible to deactivate the proximity detector? Or is it OK to cut tempered glass?

Also during a call it turns screen off once the person hangs up, I can't light the screen up at all the only way is to restart the device.

I've tried *#*#7378423#*#* and I didn't find the calibration option, I've been searching the webs those screebl, gravity screen does not work

please help

Try performing a system repair using PC Companion as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data so best to backup before you begin

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP
