power button to end call what's the purpose??

This works fine if you are not in a queue if you are in a waiting line then after time longer than yr lock screen time out the screen goes black. To retrieve the screen I need to press the power button and of course then kill the  phone conversation or am I missing something??

Just tried it on my Xperia it just locks the phone. Pressing it again unlocks it. When in call the phone proximity sensor kicks in and it turns off the display. This saves power! Give it amother try it looks fine for me.

after my update i have all sorts of problems even after thorough factory resets. i agree that should happen when you first press it should unlock. in my case it kills the phone completely.

but i also noticed the last two days the phone sometimes does not lock, when i press the power button i go right in the phone without any lock screen

some dodgy stuff. Idetest that with full-feautured smartphones, if you start tweaking and pulling its boundaries too much with 3rd party apps and updates things can go all the way out the wrong way.

my 3g switches to 2g intermiitently, this lockscreen issue now, wifi problems one big messy accumalation

If your power button ends calls you can disable that from Settings -> Accessibility.

Regarding the lock, make sure you have one under Settings -> Security -> Screen lock but some 3:rd party apps can also prevent the screen from locking itself.
