Power button functions still available in lockscreen

Hi all.

I find it to be a real concern that my power button options (airplane mode, turn off phone, etc) is still active when my lockscreen is active. IE, you can still switch off the phone even thought u didn't unlock it.

Can anyone help to disable this. It's obviously a security risk to me.

Many Tx

I'm not aware of any feature that can do this - If the screen is in sleep mode then the power button won't work if that's any help

Do other phones stop you turning it off unless unlocked? Is that what you are looking for? Problem's is all phones must have some sort of way to power cycle on lock screen (I.e. Power and volume together) so if stolen can be disabled, or am I missing something?

Unfortunately you cannot alter this, however the chance of this happening is quite minimal as it would require the power button to be pressed, released then held down for a period of time immediately after the release of the button and before it goes back into sleep mode.

Ok, people, this is the problem. You are all correct, becos u have to hold down the button the second time (long hold) to get this menu.

Let me sketch the problem.... if my phone is stolen, then the person just has to switch it off, without unlocking it, and I will not be able to track it...

So I dont want this menu to be active.. obviously I want the button to still be able to put the phone is sleep mode and such..

I did check on My HTC, Android 4.0.3, and it doesnt allow the power button functions in the lockscreen... Which i feel is the correct way.

Please advise.

I see, unfortunately altering this behavior would not help, simply removing the SIM with the phone turned on would have a similar effect so this wouldn't help much sorry.

Is there an after market app that would stop this from happening?

You also have a red button next to the sim card or micro sd card slots which when pressed will also switch of the phone so even a 3rd party app would be useless

Oh yea, I forgot about that button. Never had to use it. I am also under the impression that not many ppl will know about that button, so it's just the main power button that I am concerned about.

Still hoping one of u boffins can make a plan for me...
