Hello
I have a few problems with my wife's sony xperia z3. The main one is that the screen just suddenly stopped reacting to touch. I can no longer unlock it, it does not react to any sort of touch.
The main issue here is that my wife, despite having a synched google account has been adding appointments to calendar for some time which I believe have not been synched to her google account, somehow they have been saved only locally to the device.
I have attempted to look at the device by usb cable connected to pc with the xperia companion, in order that I might be able to access the data or at least back it up, but It will not let me past without first unlocking the device, which of course I cant as the screen doesnt recognise finger taps.
Her whole life is on that phone, and as advised in other places, the phone itself my be retrievable after a complete reinstall but that is going to be at the sacrifice of all that data on it.
Can anyone suggest anything please ?
Thanks very much
Antony
Hi @AntonyBaker,
Sorry to hear that.
If you are able to get a hold of an OTG-adapter and a computer mouse you might be able to unlock your screenlock and then create a backup of your phone.
If you connect an OTG-adapter and a computer mouse to your phone > Reboot it and a cursor should appear on screen. This way you'll be able to navigate your phone using the computer mouse.
Once the phone is unlocked you can connect it to your computer and then make a backup using Xperia Companion.
Note that if you have the latest Android version installed you will have to change a setting first. Open Settings and go to About phone. Find and tap Build number until there is a message that says you are a developer. Then go back to Settings and open the Developer settings, find the option Select USB Configuration and select the option MTP (Media Transfer Protocol).
