play store and gps problem

my play store is not working .when i run ,for sometimes its show loading then says a working data connection needed though i have working data connection.same case happens with the maps application.but xcept these two apps all other apps runs and works without prblm .

you may try using a wifi connection so you can identify whether its a problems of data. or you can either restore to factory settiings(note phone should be backup first or data will be lost) or make a software update

i have done the restore factory settings but the prblm remains unchnged.on wifi connection the same thing occured abt the gps and the play store . and abt software update when i proceeded on , it said software is up to date thn i stopped the update operation moreovr i was in fear of losing the mbl due to update operation bcz i hvnt tried it out earlier.now wht can i do ?

I recommend that you try a repair of the phones software (note that this will also delete all data in the phone).

You can repair the phones software using a PC and PC Companion: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/. Select software update under Support zone. If phone is updated it will give the option to reinstall/repair.
