planning for tablet Z need help

I want to buy xperia tablet Z probaly in US but want to use in INDIA.

the one which would like to buy is with sim card slot since I need 3g on this for browsing/calling etc..

Below are my questions. could any body please reply.

1. which model I should buy ? some sites show "unlocked" some doesn't put this word.?

   Any link of US seller for right one which I am looking for?

2. can I smily start using by putting sim card in the tablet and start using once I bought ?

3. What about software updates? mainly 4.4 which will be for tablet z? Once bring back to india, can I get those software updates???

4. what about warranty on sony tablets? international or not?

5. does accessories such as MHL cable which is purchased for xperia ZL would work with tablet Z?

There are no pre installed call function in Tablet Z. To be able to place a call you need to use a third party like Skype.

1. I suggest that you buy a Tablet Z (SGP321/SGP351) where they specify "unlocked", but to make sure that the Tablet is unlocked please contact the retailer.

2. If the SIM-card that you are going to use is activated, you should be able to use the Tablet Z straight away.

3. Android 4.4 KitKat will start to roll out from mid-Q2 for the Tablet Z. Even if you are in another country, you will receive the updates too. But note that this update needs to be released in the country where you made the purchase from.

4. The warranty is based on different regions. If you purchase a Tablet in the US, the warranty can only be used in the US. If you want further information about the warranty, you can contact the local support team from the country that you made the purchase from.

5. If you are using the IM750 MHL to HDMI adapter, it will work fine to the Tablet too. But if it's a third party accessory, it's harder for me to say if they are compatible.

I am bit confused regarding calling feature.

If I get the tablet having sim slot, does tablet Z doesn't have phone/contacts/messages support that we usually what we do with a phone??

If so the usage of having sim slot is get the 3g/4g/LTE support for internet?

There is a pre installed messaging application in Tablet Z LTE version so you can send SMS and MMS. But the Tablet Z LTE does not have any pre installed dialer, so you will not be able to place calls as standard. Therefore, you need a third party application to place internet calls.
