Phone won't turn turn on. Red flashing light when plugged in.

Hi.

My phone suddenly switched itelf off and I am unable to turn it back on. I have tried charging it and a red light constantly flashes, but still no luck. I have also tried resetting it and plugging it into my laptop, but nothing seems to work.

Thanks, Victoria.

Hi barnes34,

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

In this case, I would suggest trying a software repair on the device. Please see the instructions below.

1. Download the PC Companion software from PC Companion and install it on your PC.

2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.

3. Phone Software Update.

4. Start.

5. Repair Phone

6. Continue

7. Accept data removal

8. Next

9. Wait for prepare

10. Select Phone

11. Follow the connection steps

I hope this helps.

I have had constant problems with my Sony Xperia Z1 and have done numerous of factory resets both through Sony Companion and manually through the phone. It works fine for a few days then goes back to the same problems. Today however it has performed it's grande finale and died. Popped my phone on charge, go back to it to find it has switched itself off and won't turn back on. Tried taking off charge and putting back on but all I get is a constant red light. Tried to go through the whole send the phone off to be fixed route but to do that I need my IMEI number, unfortunately I can't obtain this information as my phone won't turn on. Vicious circle or what! Please someone help!

Hi HaylzG89,

The IMEI is located in a number of places, On the Box, Inside the Phone and on the Proof of Purchase. There is also an IMEi Tag inside the handset that is located beneath the SIM Tray, this can be pulled out to show the IMEI number.

I hope this helps.
