My Arc S sometimes reboots when I make a call.
I just made a call to my home phone to see if it happens only with the handsfree speaker function or not but off course it didn't reboot when I actually wanted it.
Anyway it happened several times now and there are two ways it does this.
The first way is it just reboots (or reboots Android only not the phone, not sure)
The second way is it displays the text "phone powering down" and then shuts the phone off. no reboot but just off.
Since it doesn't happen all the time it is very difficult to check when it happens and if it does happen in safe mode as well.
Need some help or I'm sending this one to SE for a repair or exchange.
But obviously I rather wouldn't.
Edit.
I'm running 4.0.2.A.0.42 (latest in my country it seems, I can't update)
Android 2.3.4
Hi, the first thing to do is to see if a software repair can resolve the reboot issue. Hopefully it does ....
Here's the download link to SE Update Service, http://dl-www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1/110/61/1317636927/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.10.7.exe. Be aware that this process will erase phone data completely, backup if necessary.
Keep us updated.
May I know what it is you want me to download?
SE Update Service, for software repair or update phone firmware.
Download and install to PC/Laptop, launch it and follow on-screen instructions.
I read on this website there is no way to back up Android 2.3 so how do I back up all my apps, settings etc.
Erasing everything and reinstalling and changing everything back is a massive operation..
Just follow this link, http://talk.sonyericsson.com/message/154664#154664.
Don't worry about SD Card, nothing will be erased.
