Phone Overheats

hi,

i got the Xperia s on 03/05 & after 2 days the upper portion of my phone heats alot only after few mins of usage(playing games or browing the web) i ook it to the repair centre & they updated the software but that hasnt worked & still after few min of usage it heats alot.

It's normal that the phone becomes warm when playing games or browsing, but it should not become hot. This is hard for me to determine over a forum so I suggest that you visit a retailer, I'm sure they can help you determine if this is within normal temperatures or not.

i did take my phone to the repair centre & they jst updated the software but it didnt help & it still heats a lot

I had a similar experience when I got my Xperia at the end of March, after I tried to update the software via PC companion, it went blank, and became almost too hot to hold. Was afraid it would catch fire! It never started up again, got a new replacement from the Mobile SP.

Since then no problems, perhaps some issues with early models?
