phone not ringing

I have had my sony xperia arc for about a year and never had trouble with it.  However now all of a sudden the phone does not ring when there is an incoming call.  I have checked setting for volume and its ok.  I don't have any problem with notifications and sms and even videos work fine.  Has anyone encountered this problem and knows how to solve it.  I tried to reset and switch off but to no avail.  Please help

If all the settings advise that the ring volume is turned up and you are able hear the ringtone when testing it, then I can only suggest trying a Factory Data Reset to the device to resolve it.

Menu > Settings > Privacy > Factory Data Reset

Note: this will remove data from the handsets memory but will not touch a SIM card or memory stick.
