Phone Lag

after the recent update to ICS ,

its almost impossible to use the phone,

To launch the phone application (Call/Contact) it takes about 3-4 seconds on an average,

scroll lags, calling a number lags average 2-3  seconds.

Game LAGS/crashes

Application crashes.

Xperia Gallery crashes frequently

Average free memory 55-65 MB ,

processes that consume most of the memory

WhatsApp  - avg 8 MB

Maps - avg 6 MB

Music - avg 25 MB

Mcaffe security (couple of them) avg 10 MB

Xperia Home avg 25 MB

even if the services are terminated they keep restarting ending up consuming more memory

i have 16GB class 4 Micro SD card, could it be a possibility that class 10 could improve any of the perfomance

i've around 144 MB of free internal  and 8.80 GB of SD card.

to keep the phone functionally usable it needs does need a restart every 18-24 hours (clearing the cached memory)

Is OS repair the only option here?

First: Welcome to the forum.

Secondly, sorry to hear about the problem.

I do suggest you run PC Companion and perform a software repair (just like you alreadu figured out).

This will re-install the same software which hopefully will fix these problems.

Make sure you backup any data you wish to keep.

Thanks for replyin,

after the repair phone seems to be functioning just perfect,

the only glitch now is ,as i actually didnt take any new App backup and relied on kind of old backup via APPmonster; Result i'm not able to update few of the integrated App's like Google street Update,

it runs into an error 941.

& google play website doesnt recognise my phone

but via google play store i'm able to download new/ previously installed Apps so less to worry about.
