Phone Heating Up

My new Xperia ZL phone is heating up a lot even with basic minimal usage. Battery too is draining very quickly.

Any suggestions on what I can do to solve this?

There are other threads on the same topic, as long as your wifi or data is on, your battery will drain faster and there are apps that will run in the background which will heat up your phone faster, the longer that you use the phone the hotter it will get and the more demanding the apps are the faster it will happen.

Its very normal for smart phone these days with powerful processors to heatup during use as theres not much heatsink room available for heat dissipation in already cramped hardware inside the phone. I have noticed the phone heating up pretty much when using 3G too. i guess it should not be much of a problem untill your phone is running fine. Gotto live with it until they address the issue in hardware itself.
