Phone heating up

Hi,

after 20 months my xperia arc is heatng up at the top of the phone (by the camera) and then drains the battery.

i have replaced the battery but still have the same problem, i don't think it is the battery as that is at the bottem of the phone, i have reinstalled the sofeware and done a factory reset but still have the same problem

i take good care of the phone, have never dropped it and keep in a in case

i called t-mobile as the phone is still under guarantee, their telling me to knock off the wi-if when not using the phone, but i have never had to do this before!

or, the new battery could be a dud (so t-mobile are telling me) is there any way to test the battery by connecting the phone to the computer? Just so i can tell t-mobile to get there finger out and repair or replace the phone.

any help please.

thanks for the link, but it seems out of date, i cannot download the tools i need, can you or someone point me to the right place where i can download the latest flashtool and ICS i need to proceed.

i have had a look around google to try and find the tools and instuctions but not had much luck.

sorry about this but i am having problems following you advice

would you mind explaining to me step by step how to download flashtool and ICS, after i have these flies i will be fine.

just so you know, i do follow your link, i click on download flashtool, the only one i can see is V0.9.11.0 can you let me know this is the correct flashtool to download.

when i click on download ICS for Xerperia Arc, it takes me to a page that tells me i have to download 3 parts! but if i click on part 1-3 it leads to another page that states the file or flies have been removed!

i am pretty good at upgrading or flashing (TV,s PVR,s etc.) but hitting a brick wall with this one.

am glad you have replied because i know you have just upgraded to ICS

but, the link you have sent me is for the Xeperia Arc S

my phone is the Experia Arc.

or, does it not matter? can i use the same link and software

i have ICS ready to go, but not sure about the flashtool

which version do i need, i have 0.9.11.0 but it does not show ICS (that i have placed in the frirmware folder) do i have to update flashtool and if so how do i do this, as i do not see an update when running flashtool.

and i find it hard to download the correct version of  flashtool from the link you gave me

just to give you details-

i have ICS version 4.0.2.A 0.42 

i am sure is the right version for the experia arc

I have flashtool version 0.9.11.0 is this correct?

i have delated data in the firmware folder and replaced with ICS, when i run flashtool i click on flashmode and it shows 4.0.2.A.0.42 but the boxs to the right are blank, i cannot see wipe data or wipe cache or no final verifacation?

am doing something wrong or do i have the incorrect flashtool
