phone getting hot while charging

my phone doesnt get that hot when im using wifi and gps!! bt it does get kinda hot wile im rechrging my mobile phone!! 
Is this normal or is it a defect in my phone?

It is normal to be hot while intense using(wifi,gps) also charging and using the phone while charging(playing games or others).Download a google play app and tell the temperature it tells when the phone gets hot.(normal should be between 30C idle and no more than 45-50C when heavily used).
