phone encryption

I accidentally encrypted my phone can anyone tell me how to decrypt it, i am unable to use a pattern lock now

If you want to decrypt your phone, you need to perform a factory reset. This can be done via Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset.

if i reset my phone w+ill any of my data will be lost.

Internal memory will be deleted.

I am not sure you will be able to backup if you are encrypted though.
