Phone doesn't work when SIM is inserted

I AM GETTING AN UNIQUE TYPE OF PROBLEM IN MY XPERIA U. THE PHONE IS WORKING FLUENTLY WHEN THE SIM CARD IS NOT INSERTED (STATUS SHOWING EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY SIM CARD NOT INSERTED). BUT WHEN I AM INSERTING THE SIM CARD TO THE PHONE, SCREEN BECAME BLUISH AFTER A FEW SECONDS. I HAVE TRIED WITH SEVERAL SIM CARDS BUT THE RESULTS ARE SAME. AFTER BECAME BLUISH WHEN I TRY TO SHUT DOWN THE PHONE IT RESTARTED AUTOMATICALLY EVERYTIME. BUT WHEN THE PHONE IS BEING USED WITHOUT SIM CARD WORKING SMOOTHLY WITH ALL THE AVAILABLE FEATHERS. THAT IS WHY I AM JUST UNABLE TO USE THE PHONE. PLEASE HELP.

Just get a BRAND NEW SIM CARD, even if the SIM cards work on other phones just get a brand new SIM card

I HAVE TRIED WITH A BRAND NEW SIM CARD BUT THE PROBLEM IS SAME.

Hey i too have faced the same problem twice... And have rectified it both the times... What i did is as follows: 1. Full factory reset your phone without SIM card in it (check the check box to erase all the internal memory). 2. Repair your phone via Sony PC companion 2.1 (pls do not repair it via Update service it won't help, i tried many times) 3. After successful installation of software insert SIM card and restart your phone. That's it!... Hope it should work... It worked for me twice.. Note: Please take back up of your contents as full factory reset would delete all your data.

bro i ahve the same problem i went to service senter they told me its hardware problem and ui have to replace the greean palte the mother board wihcih copst abt 6800 rs is **bleep** becouse 2nd hand phone price is aboubt 7 k .. i dn think its is a hardware prob plzz find a solution and give m e to ya it happend last night wiht me

how comee same defect in all the phones this is sony chaeaing their customers this is  not good.. sony **bleep**.. same porblem in xperia Z aslo they dnt have equpment to  service the phone to why do the seel these handsets then
