Phone doesn't start after update

Well the latest update did a fantastic job of turning my C4 phone into a useless, expensive, piece of trash.

It crashed 2 days after the upload, and remains dead. This was caused wholly and entirely by Sony update - but is it likely i will get a refund?

I bought it in Indonesia less than 12 months ago, and have the receipt, and it's now junk.

I am travelling so no choice but to spend money on another phone. I can absolutely guarantee it wont be a Sony!

Hi @josejosejose,

I am sorry to hear about this experience with your C4. I cannot comment on warranty or refund as it differs between regions, so contact the support team in Indonesia for those answers. Use the link in my signature to find their details.

What I recommend is, because this happened with an update, run a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will re-install Android on your phone, and most software issues will be resolved by this.

Hi Cameron T,

The phone wont turn on -  so how can i run a repair on computer?

@josejosejose,

The software repair reflashes the part of the phone responsible for initiating the start up process. If the reason for your phone not being able to power on is related to this function, the software repair can resolve it.

Tried several times, software repair wont work on either Mac or Windows laptops that i have been able to borrow. Once there was an error message L 2449, other times the program just refused to run.

Yes i have contacted the indonesian support service - even with recepit for phone under 12 months old, and damage being caused by upgrade, i still have to pay for repair. Have returned to Samsung brand!

And the problems only continue. Now this useless piece of expensive trash apparently has a recharge problem - which is certainly didn't before the viral upgrade that destroyed it. So Sony Indonesia are charging rp1,000,000 to fix it.
I have given the phone away, i hope my friend will have better luck than i did, but i wouldnt touch it with a toilet brush.
