Phone doesn't start after update

Hi, I have an Xperia SK17i and when i tried to update the phone it don't start up or get into restore mode etc... The only thing that works on it is the LED light and it's flashing red for a few minutes and then it shuts it self down. My computer won't recognise the mobile and I've tried everything

I have tried that, but my PC won't recognize the mobile

can your phone turn on at all? take the battery out -> put it back on -> do NOT turn on your phone -> connect your phone to your PC does the LED turn orange/yellow?

I can't turn on the phone at all and i've tried taking out the battery and turn it back on, but when i connect it to my PC the LED begins and flash red for about 10 secs and then stops

ok but I'm asking a bit more specific

1) turn off your phone

2) take the battery out

3) press the power button and hold it for 5 seconds

4) put the battery back on (DO NOT turn on the phone)

5) connect the phone to the computer

what happen?

6) connect the phone to the wall charger

what happen?

All this w/o trying to turn it on

When i connected it to the PC it did the same thing, but when i connected the phone to the charger it didn't even react

do you have a different USB cable? it seems to be a hardware issue more than software
