Today at work my phone was plugged into the USB socket all morning charging away, so at lunchtime i have a 100% charged battery. i then went for a walk with my bluetooth headphones and was out for around 40 minutes listening to music, i thought i had over 90% charge when i got back to the office.
When i plugged the phone in again i got the PC companion message telling me that there was a firmware update for the phone (532) would i like to upgrade.
I said yes and followed the instructions.
When i next looked at the update it had stopped and there was no error message on screen but the phone screen was black, i left it for a while and nothing was happening, i pressed the power button to make the screen come on and it did nothing.
in the end after about 30 mins i disconnected the phone only to find that it was completely dead, even if i plugged it into the USB charge socket and not the usb connection there was no red light.
I have tried the power button and up volume as suggested by the 'helpful' lady on the support chat, i tried using the manual reset button, i've tried the repair your phone option from PC companion. I've tried the SUS and that still doesnt do anything.
Have to say not impressed by Sony now. Wish i had just upgraded my SGS3 to an SGS4 instead.
Does anyone have any other suggestions or as i suspect is it really bricked and i do need to return it?
TIA

Connect your phone to a wall charger (NOT the dock) press and hold power & volume up until it vibrates 3 times > let it charge for at least 2 hours > after 2 hours repair it with SUS
this might delete everything on your phone but a working phone its better than a high tech expensive brick
if that doesn't work, you should take it to a Sony repair center, I had a similar issue with my Xperia Z and that worked for me. It took more than 2 hours.
