Phone dead while charging

This morning I was charging my phone (using wall charger) and it was charged upto 64%. I checked again after 10 mins and the screen was blank. The charging led was also not lit. I tried power cycling it  (vol up+pwr) a couple of time it didnt work. After about half an hour I tried turning on the phone and it worked. I am not sure what the issue is but it has happened once in the past.

Need assistance in identifying the issue.

Boot your phone in safe mode,see if the same will occur.It could be related to a 3rd party app like battery savers or task killers:
