Phone Companion will Install, Media Go Won't Install

Hi,

I downloaded Phone companion from the internet so i could put some music on my Xperia Z. It will install correctley and load, but then whenever i try and load Media Go from it, it trys intalling it and just freezes and never does anything.

I then tried downloading Media Go straight from the Sony Website and it always comes up saying "a programme is already install/uninstalling, please finish this before trying to install". Theres no programme already trying to install/uninstall so i dont understand whats wrong.

Ive also uninstalled Phone Companion and tried installing Media Go then, but still the same problem. And ive tried running as an "Administator" and in "Compaitbility Mode".

Could please someone help me

Just to clarify, have you tried rebooting the PC then installing MediaGo separately?

Yes I have at least three times but I still get the same problem that my computer thinks sosomething else is installing when it isn't.

I got my phone a couple of days ago and Im experiencing exactly the same problem with the software and I am at a loss how to rectify it.

Mine shows a green bar as unpacking which just sticks at full when it reaches the right hand side, then nothing happens other than updating media go just spins around and doesnt do anything.

As an upgrade phone, Im less than impressed with the phone so far and if I cannot find a resolution to this it will be going back and I will have another Nokia.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread here but this has only just happened to me.

Go into services (%windir%\system32\services.msc) and make sure that the Windows Installer (C:\Windows\system32\msiexec.exe) service is running.

When media go is unpacked it is as an .msi file not an .exe so, if this service isn't running, windows can't install it.

i'm having a problem installing media go on my pc... it's not installing at all and when i try to install the prgram itslef it's saying something else is in staliing which is not true

You'll need to give evryone more to go on than that.

When you say it's 'not installing at all' - what is it doing?

How do you know that something else isn't installing?

What, if any error messages are you seeing?

Have you checked the service I mentioned is running?
