Hello everyone,
Hope someone can help me here. My "phone" calendar went missing after a reinstall/repair. I only have the Google calendar now.
Thinking my XU was unresponsive, I performed a reinstall via SUS. Before doing so, I did a back up of the phone via the PC Companion. The reinstall finished without any error, and the phone restore, although a painful procedure because I didn't realize PC Companion does not perform an app backup as well, also went okay. Now my phone is pretty much back to what it was before---not sure if performance is any better with reinstall to be honest---but I've been noticing that some things are slightly different, like this missing phone calendar.
Would any one know how I can get the phone calendar back please? Recovering the old entries would be ideal, but if not, at least I would like to get back the ability of storing the entries on the phone only.
Thank you.
I may be a little confused here. The calendar we have in the handset is designed to be connected to a Gmail account so it would appear you do have the correct option installed. Did you previously have a third party calendar application?

Hi Sam,
Thanks for the reply. I do not have a 3rd party calendar app. My phone was out-of-the-box on GB, and I updated it to ICS a few weeks later.
I believe it had the "Phone" calendar feature from the beginning, athough I cannot recall precisely. I did install Astrid & AnyDo at some point, but I uninstalled them a while back. Not sure if they could have introduced the Phone calendar or not. I will test.
My wife also has the same phone, which was bought at the same time and hasn't been as "heavily handled". I'll compare with her too, and report back.
Reinstalling Astrid and Any.Do did not bring back the Phone calendar.
My wife's phone does not have this local "Phone" calendar. I guess something must have introduced it and it got removed when I did a reinstall.
Thanks for taking the time to answer. Unfortunately for me I've saved appointments on to it, but that's life!
Is this the app you were referring to?

Yes that's the calendar app I'm using.
This app used to give me the choice to save my appointments to the "Phone" calendar (as opposed to the online Google calendar). Apparently I shouldn't have been able to see that choice to begin with. Somehow I did have that choice though, but it went away after I did a SUS repair.
