pc connection problem!!

i saw a few posts wer already der with this problem...but mine is a lil bit different m using xp sp2..n wen i connected my newly bought xperia u it prompted me to install pcc to my pc..n i did dat...but pcc is not detecting my ph..though my pc detects my phone as a camera device...i tried alot of things but nothing helped!!! m getting frustrated now...its my first android ph n m feeling lyk y did i buy it!! plz help me sort this problem....

just disconnect the USB from phone and from PC. Switch off the phone, wait 5 mins. Switch on. wait 5 mins. Then connect the USB to PC then to phone.

Uninstall any appkillers or antivirus before doing any of these.

If nothing works, do a factory reset.
