PC Companion update issue

thers a new firmware update for my xperia sp and then i tried to update my phone using pc companion and sony update service,when i reached to the step that i need to turned off  my phone and reconnect it while pressing hold down volume key pcc. and sus  it seem to be unable to detect my phone.why?and when my phone is on and connect  it detects my phone pls help...

Make sure you are using Original Sony USB Cabel came along with handset...

yeah i use sony usb cable 2.0 nothing happens.i try another pc also but i face same problem

try to disconnect the cable completely and then reconnect it if posible to a different usb port

I am facing a different problem pc companion can't find my update neither sus i live in greece and i know for a fact tht the update is available in greece but it says that i have the latest version also i currently have version 12.0.A.1.257 and everyone else has 12.0.A.1.284 i don't know what to do and if the problem is my current version please help.....

If PC Companion/ Update Service can't find you phone: 

Try different USB ports, if you are connection to USB 3 port (Blue) try to connect to a USB 2 port (black) instead. 

Try with different USB cables. If you still have a problem you should try on another PC. 

If PC Companion/ Update Service says you already have the latest software the new update is not yet available for your unit. The software is rolled out gradually. Please check our software update FAQ topic:
