pc companion stopped working

help!i plugged my phone to my laptop and then the pc companion said an update is available, so i updated it but while it was preparing for updates after a few moments it will say pc companion stopped working then the pc companion window closes, please help

You could try using Sony Ericsson Update Service downloadable from the following link, ignore the Aino you get to choose your device when downloaded and running.
