PC Companion not authenicating Google account when Syncing

L&G,

PC companion updated itself to 2.1 recently and since then I cannot sync my PC calendar to the Google account and hence my phone. I can step through the sequence but at the Google settings tab it stops with this error. An error has occurred in the script on this page, then list line and character references. tried firewall an antivirus settings. At a loss as to why it would stop working after a software update

Win 98, Outlook 2003, Latest Firefox, IE 6

MMM wonder whether it doesn't like the older IE, i shall update and find out. Standby.

Well I checked that the latest IE I can have ith Win XP is 6 and I have that. It loks like the new software uses some techniques that IE doesn't or cannot control. So that is the end of that!

It will have to wait till this machine dies because I'm not updating a whole hardware and software system for one tatty piece of code.
