PC Companion issues

Hi,

I had purchased an Xperia U 15 days back, I wanted to update the phone android version to ICS.

But when I installed PC Companion on my PC, it says No phone connected.

I have disconnected, reconnected, restarted..nothing seems to work. Later I uninstalled PC companion because I thought something went wrong

with the installation. The next time, while trying to install PC Companion, it said "Could not install PC Companion".

So this time I downloaded PC Companion from the website and installed it.

Now the PC Companion has been installed, but it still shows "No phone connected". Am I missing anything here..please help!

what sort of PC you have there? which os you use? have you try to connect it to another PC or laptop?

you should try connect the USB cable at the back panel of your PC not the front, and  you might wanna try sony SUS

Do you get any response from the phone or PC indicating that some form of connection has taken place?

I am using Windows XP currently and I connected using the slot at the back.

Another thing I forgot to mention was that it shows an ST25i under removable media, when I connect, so technically it should have connected right?

I'll try connecting using another PC and also check out SUS, hopefully it will work this time.

try this.

1. connect usb cable to computer

2. connect usb cable to phone

3. and look at your phone

4. select install pc companion..

5. and then follw easy steps..

it works!
