panorama shoot camera

When i shoot in panorama mood I face two problems:
1- device tell me that I am moving too fast or too slow then discard the image automatically.
2- when I don't shoot full 360 there is gray color in rest of image size.

And this device have gyro sensor it supposed to know which direction panorama shoot go across. As found in all samsung galaxy series

1. It may happen from time to time, especially in dark conditions. If it is too dark phone doesn't recognize your movement and can't properly stich images. Then it drops such error. Of course same goes if you just move too fast or in wrong direction.

2. Gray area is normal when you end before full 180 deg view. I think I'd like to have button "end panorama" because not always you can go full around. But for now you need to cut gray area in built-in (or any other) photo editor on the phone.

I shooted in same place with four devices. They all recognized my movement and direction. And all has ability to stop panorama any time and all doesn't have that grey area. Some of these phones are 5 years old

I completely agree with you...

Even my old Motorola Atrix (2010) can take better and HIGHER res panorama pictures than the new 20.7MP camera on Sony...

The good thing is that you can add on features to your camera (under Modes)... In my opinion the best pano pictures are taken by the Nexus Camera, actually not panos but I tend to choose Sphere Pics instead.

It really **bleep** that with such great camera, processor, sensors and all included in our phones, the panoramas are shoot as an archaic old point and shoot, with 5 MP results.
