Just to check are your Date & Time set correctly?

If there is a pre-installed version have you tried un-installing it?

I read this elsewhere on the forum. Date & time are correct, I also retried it after setting the date a few months earlier but the problem remains the same.

And yes, it is a pre-installed version - there is also a lock symbol in the "applications" menu.

My phone has the R5AA032 firmware for a couple of months by now. The other phone has the newer R5AA035 firmware but also for this phone I have the same error message.

The other internet apps work fine, i.e. youtube, facebook, etc.

Do you get the same error message when connected via Wi-Fi? - Johnny.

I only use Wi-Fi, no 3G. There is however elsewhere in the phone a Google search function and this works fine.

It's only Opera that won't work anymore. the strange thing is that it doesn't work anymore on both my phones!

Please, anybody? It still doesn't work !!! Very annoying!

Unfortunately...

I do have only 1 data-account  : "default" and it is selected!

Everything else works fine via Wi-fi thru this account, only opera mini doesn't work due to the verification error...

These are my settings for "default" :

access point = /

dns = /

login = /

user = /

password = /

verification = none (instead of PAP or CHAP)

proxy = off

Have you tried updating/re-installing the software, or resetting the phone? If you have, it might be worth trying once again, as in theory, the Opera application should be re-installed in its original version.

Hope this helps.

I can't update opera mini since it is locked ; I could download the latest software but almost at the end of the installation there was an error message saying that there is already an older version installed (?)

Anyway, my phone has firmware R5AA032 since a few months and the other phone has te most recent firmware R5AA035 installed for some weeks...
